Privacy policy

How Brisbane 10 collects, uses and protects personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Summary

Brisbane 10 (brisbane10.com) handles as little personal information as it can. There is no advertising and no AdSense on the site, we use no tracking cookies and we never sell personal information. We aim to handle what we hold in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

Server logs: IP address, browser and device type and each page requested, kept for security and to fix faults. Emails: your name, address and message when you contact us. Business accounts: the email used to sign in to ‘For businesses’, the listing you manage and, if you take a paid plan, the billing records Stripe provides. Listings themselves hold business information that is already public, such as a trading name, address and phone number.

Why we use it

To run and protect the site, reply to you, manage claimed listings and paid plans, and keep the records the law requires. We don’t use it to market to you.

Cookies and analytics

Visitor numbers come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without building a profile of you. The only cookie we set is a session cookie in ‘For businesses’, so you stay signed in. Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks technical signals from your browser to stop spam and is not used for advertising.

Service providers and overseas disclosure

We rely on Cloudflare (hosting, security, analytics and email), Stripe (payments for Pro and Top plans; we never see full card numbers) and OpenFreeMap (map tiles your browser loads directly). These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, and each uses it only for its own task.

How long we keep it

Logs only while security needs them, emails while the exchange is ongoing and for a short period afterwards, business accounts while they remain open, and billing records for as long as tax law requires.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@brisbane10.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a privacy matter, tell us first; if it isn’t resolved, you can take it to the OAIC (Office of the Australian Information Commissioner).

Updates

We will revise this policy if our site or the relevant law changes, and whatever appears on this page is the policy in force.
